Watching this shit unfold from outside Canada is stunning.

I understand not all nations have the same political culture.

But in France, everyone is aware that we consume far too much plastic and it’s seriously harming both our health and environment. Claiming you support plastic packaging is political suicide.

He's in a lose-lose situation right now: if he moderates, he stands a better chance at being elected in the general--not a given!--but if he loses his base will eat him alive. He might even lose his seat.

If he leans more into fascism, he'll still lose the general but might keep his job and his seat.

Poor Pierre. If he hadn't been a grievance-peddling fascist bootlicker for the last several decades I'd almost feel bad for him. Almost.
