We don't know how it ends and those 250 people might never get out.
People are trivializing it because "trump is stupid" but the damage is real.
I am not trying to trivialize it, but what I know as a USian from seeing rot take hold after 9/11 and slowly eat away the foundations of my society is that if you let fascists tone police everything so that discussions are "serious", they win.
You have to mercilessly make fun of fascists, on all the fronts that they are insecure, and beat them over the head with it, even as brutal things are happening because otherwise centrists begin to believe these people and shit gets very dark.
The people who voted for him are still going to exist after he goes.
