If they end up citing the famous Lancet paper, then you know they didn’t even try to make up new bullshit.

For anyone unaware, Lancet published a paper in 1998 that claimed there were links between the MMR vaccine and environmental triggers that lead to loss of acquired skills including language. The study being conducted turned out to be fraudulent, with parents of many of the children involved in lawsuits against the vaccine manufacturers, as well as unethical treatment of children. 12 years later in 2010, Lancet retracted the paper.
