I'm curious why you said "instances like Lemmy.world"

https://chapo.chat/post/505181

Looks like the nice people, the canadians, the LGBT, the trans people, the furries, the new zealanders, the programmers, the germans, and the environmentalists defederated with Hexbear, in terms of instances that have a strong theming. The only common trend I can identify between those groups is that they all tend left of center. Except perhaps the germans, given current events.

So when you said "instances like Lemmy.world", did you mean leftists?

[–] Cowbee@lemmy.ml 3 points 3 hours ago (1 children)

Not at all, I mean generally right-wing liberal instances. Many Leftist or general instances are federated with Hexbear, like Mander or Lemm.ee.

We could go into the reasons for defederation, if you want.

Ah, so you mean that many right wing instances are deferated, and ALSO the queers, the trans people, and the furries. Interesting. If both the left and the right are opposed to Hexbear, that would logically suggest Hexbear is centrist.

Hexbear defederated from Blahaj because Blahaj protected chaser mods that were targeting Hexbear users, and because Blahaj is hostile to Marxists. Hexbear is one of the most trans and queer friendly instances on Lemmy. It seems more like you're trying to make the argument that queer people can't disagree with each other, and to do so is right wing? I dunno, it's a silly argument.

Hexbear's transphobia has been very well documented.

I've decided not to pursue this conversation any further. It's clear from the downvotes that the people here have already made up their minds. I was a fool to try and have this conversation on lemmy.ml. You can google "Hexbear transphobia", and when you find information you don't like, you can downvote your Google search instead of downvoting me. I'm sure that's fair.

I was genuinely hoping to see some examples of it, as I am honestly concerned about the safety of trans people on Lemmy due to recent events. But despite being subscribed to a few Hexbear comms myself, my detectors hasn't gone off with them.

I am, of course, also concerned that transphobia is sometimes only being used as the subject of concern trolling to push more hostile actions against openly leftist instances.

There has been recently a heavily transphobic drama involving a certain non-binary user with a neopronoun that got massively dogpiled on, for no good reason that I could actually find, and the transphobia was not exactly coming from Hexbear or any tankie instance.

I'm open to reevaluating my relationship to that instance if transphobia is something that they allow or indulge. But sadly, I need receipts to ensure that you are not just disingenuously weaponizing the concept of transphobia to shit on an instance you don't like.

Hexbear's stance on the user you are referring to is that said user should not be misgendered, even if said user could be a troll, as misgendering is wrong to begin with.

It's more that you came in here by trying to pretend I was making an anti-Anarchist comment, then proceeded to try to pick a fight at every comment you could of mine. You're free to leave evidence of claiming Hexbear is transphobic while defending instances like sh.itjust.works, where the admin thinks China and Russia are pushing "gender politics" to radicalize western youths against the US and then doubled down on it when called out.

I also googled "Hexbear Transphobia" and nothing came up showing any transphobia on Hexbear, for what it's worth.

No, fucking provide examples.

[–] Genius@lemmy.zip -1 points 2 hours ago (1 children)

There's no need for such aggression. Yelling won't make me do what you want.

[–] Edie@lemmy.ml 1 points 2 hours ago (1 children)

Of course you go for the tone policing civility bullshit
