It should be mandatory to arrest a police officer on the spot the same as you would any other civilian breaking the law.
It’s been awhile since I took criminal justice but I’ll try to rattle a few off the top of my head. Feel free to chime in with your additions or why you feel something I picked wouldn’t be appropriate for a charge.
Reckless endangerment
Vehicular assault
Assault with a deadly weapon
Brandishing a firearm
Yes apparently they were on native land so that completely precludes the idea that they should act even semi reasonably.
The “Just drive through the protestors” rhetoric on Reddit is absolutely insane. It explains the majority stance on bikes in the US as well.
“I am a weapon and I’m driving one so I’m going to use it to make sure I get to my unimportant coffee 2 minutes faster.”
I got hit by a truck riding my bicycle to work last September in the US. I’m actually working on a YouTube video that will recount my story and hopefully serve as some advocacy for changing the laws.
I was also on a “bike” road when I got hit by that oversized emotional support vehicle 😒
