Switch 2 is rumoured for 2024, but what could be launch titles? Metroid prime 4 would be a candidate, but might not a be a system seller.

A new 3d Mario could be a possibility, given wonder is a 2.5d and another team might be working on something.

Zelda - we've just had totk released so that seems out.

Mario kart 9 could be a system seller.

Splatoon 3 was only recently released.

What else could be lined up for a launch window, assuming a 2024 release? Maybe 2024 is less plausible ๐Ÿค”

My money's on an Animal Crossing, possibly not immediately on release but close to it nonetheless. New Horizons had just too much success for the company not trying to ride the wave, and they have so much room to improve on the mechanics and the variety of the setting.

If I can offer a counterpoint, AC isn't generating revenue from microtransactions and DLC. I predict Nintendo's launch title will be positioned to generate revenue over the entire life cycle of the console.

Didn't New Horizon have a DLC AND a microtransactions-riddled mobile game?

It has a single DLC, IIRC. I don't know about the mobile game, but I'm thinking more along the lines of a Paradox game with hundreds worth of DLC, or Sims 4 with thousands, or GTA 5 with a pay to win currency system. I could be wrong, but it seems like Nintendo would be ignoring a golden goose.

My own experience with animal crossing was riding the wave of hype and then giving it up. I don't think I would get the sequel.

You underestimate the casual gaming crowd. The same people who buy all of the sims content, still play animal crossing to get cozy in bed before sleeping every night.
