Have never posted about it here or said anything in a public forum, but I always had a very negative impression of sim-racers who wore racing gloves. I found it pretentious at worst and unnecessary at best. So here's a public apology to everyone who races with gloves for my utterly malformed and ridiculous opinion - even though unexpressed.

Brief background. Got a fabulous new sim-racing wheel and pedals which have resulted in me spending way more time racing on my rig this summer. This new intensity coupled with the summer heat and the heat coming off of relatively new (6 month old) triple screens means that my hands started sweating. So I grudgingly acquiesced and ordered sim-racing gloves. Of course now I can't get over how great they are and swear that the grip and accuracy may even be helping me drive better.

Just another example of how we all can be incorrectly swept away on the investment we have in our visceral and untested opinions on things. Am sure it won't be my last lesson.

Bottom line. I love my new racing gloves!

Hey, i am going to buy a simagic alpha mini. But since my appartment is too small, i can not fit even a stand here. So my only option is a table clamp. I have seen a lot of them, and the moza's one seem the sturdiest. I was wondering if it will fit a simagic alpha mini? Thanks for help:>

My experience - Forza Motorsport 3-7 and some horizon. Also plan on using my Xbox series x and reusing some monitor I have laying around (nothing fancy). My intention is to eventually get a PC and probably iRacing and ACC. I probably want to do GT racing and drifting and normal car racing (idk if there’s a category for that).

Racing Wheel and Motor - Fanatec CSL DD 5nm and CSL Wheel - $336.63

Pedals - CSL Pedals and Load Cell - $219.90

Cockpit and seat - RCP Cockpit Sport + Racing Seat - $939.46

Shifter - Clubsport Shifter SQ v 1.5 - $259.95

Handbrake - Clubsport Handbrake - $129.95

Subtotal - $1886.11

Tax 10.25%

Total - $2079.44

Thoughts on this build? Should I downgrade some things? Or any glaring issues?

Hi all,

I purchased an Open Wheeler seat a couple of years back and started out with a T300RS and a TH8A shifter. I gradually upgraded and now have mostly Fanatec components. My most recent purchase is a bass shaker set up comprised of 2 BTS-1s along with a Aiyima A07 amplifier. I've not seen many builds with my specific seat (it doesn't seem to be a particularly popular option) and I therefore struggled quite a bit to find the most efficient way to connect the bass shakers, as I couldn't find a single example. I ended up buying VESA screen mounts, sanding down the paint and using a metal epoxy to weld the brackets to the rig to which I attached the bass shakers. If anyone has that seat and is looking for advice, please send me a PM and I'll be happy to provide guidance!

It's definitely not a high-end build like many of the ones that I see on here, but I just spent a couple of hours with cable management finally and I was pretty happy with the results. I'm thinking of modding the pedals a little bit as a next step to improve the feel, but that'll be it for now otherwise!

I play AC and in VR exclusively.

Edit: if anyone's wondering, I'm using Amazon Basics yoga blocks under the frame of the rig for vibration dampening. In the front, I have caster wheels. I run the amplifier at 50% and it's been more than enough.
