(TL;DR at bottom)

The reception of Baldur’s Gate 3 has been overwhelmingly positive within the gaming community. The game’s delivery of full, complete, polished content has left AAA developers scrambling, to the point a lot of them are even shamelessly talking down on the game, almost as if completely blind to the positive ripple it has rocked across the community. And this is coming after the beauty and majesty of “Hogwarts Legacy” & “Elden Ring”, which might even be where frustration within AAA Devs started.

Micro-transactions (MTX) have poisoned the water of so many once-favored gaming franchises and fans have been fed up for years, but with a since of hopelessness and disappointment due to the obvious spike in profit these MTX bring in.

Below I’ll list a few of the primary offenders:

• Diablo 4 (Activision-Blizzard) • Destiny 2 (Bungie) • Halo Infinite (343)(Yuck) • Call of Duty (Activision)(Treyarch/IW/Sledgehammer)

These are just to name a few, but I’m sure we all know the offenders when we see them. The only one I personally even still have installed is Destiny 2, but that’s soon to end due to their recent, borderline-insulting “State of game” statement. There was once a time none of these games included MTX or Battle Passes, but with the rise of Fortnite and it’s success, other devs couldn’t help but follow in their footsteps— completely failing to find any identity that would resonate with the gaming community the way they want it to. Hell, Activision-Blizzard almost seems like it’s making Diablo 4 bad on purpose, just to mock and disrespect it’s already exhausted fans.

This is the perfect time to capitalize on BG3’s success. The gaming community has been hopeless and powerless over this issue, but the majority of the community coming together to praise the complete games that leave out MTX could urge AAA Studios to go back to the formula we’ve wanted back for years upon years. It’s been years now, of Profit > Quality of Product. It’s disrespectful to the consumer, who buy these profits in good faith.

Everyone should play Baldur’s Gate 3, and soak up the beauty of a full, quality game by devs that care about their fans, and their image. If BG3 isn’t your style, that’s fine, but I can’t help but be excited to see what seems like the start of a revolution.

TL;DR: Baldur’s Gate 3 is a complete game that fans are receiving well due to it’s Profit < Quality of Product approach, which is making other devs openly & shamelessly jealous. If other devs followed this formula, people might grow to enjoy & respect their games again, but the community has to push for it.

I remember playing this racing game back in the early 2000s. Wasn't a very popular game because I never heard of it before seeing it. The tint of the game was very dark and brownish. It wasn't on a racing track, but more of a casual-realistic-open world kind of game. One of the cars that I liked to use was like a 1940s car. I remember the word dusk and racing in louisiana. I wish I could think of more details to the game, but it's been so long. I just remember I really liked it.

Hi guys, next week is finally the day and I'm coming back. Unfortunately I don't know what to play then? After the immense success of Baldurs Gate 3? Should I play that? Or Diablo 4? Should I wait for more story contend here before I end up in grind hell? Or maybe Remenent 2 with friends?

Does it anger you? Do you get hyped to fight your old character? Would you prefer that the new and old protagonists team up instead?

For me, it's usually a "damn" feeling, but something that would be cool to see is have both protags be fully custom characters (appearance, voice, etc) and fight. All the devs would have to do is take your character save from the previous game and import into the new one.

Hello everyone

I dont know where to turn at this point. My house recently burned down and I’ve lost everything. I’m waiting on the process of insurance to begin but in the meantime I need to numb the pain with mindless work or games.

If anyone here has gone through similar, or knows of ways to get affordable computer that can run CAD (so I can mindlessly draw poly lines) I would be very grateful. I’m in the US. Thank you all.

I've been feeling super nostalgic about the PC games I used to play as a kid. With all the advancements and changes in the gaming world, I sometimes wonder if modern games really capture that same magic. Don't get me wrong, I love the graphics and capabilities of today's games, but there's something about those classic titles that just sticks with you, right?

Have you ever picked up a game purely because it reminded you of an old favorite? Do you think developers should lean into nostalgia more, or should the focus always be on pushing forward and innovating? Keen to hear your thoughts!"

The most outrageous game I've played is "Goat Simulator."

How are about you?

I'm really digging the rpgs right now and I think a sequel or remake of Arcanum would sell well.

Most modern games right now require 8gb vram for high settings at 1080p, will the vram requirement grow bigger over time for 1080p gaming?

I use backslash (/) in pretty much every game I play. I hit it with my pinky which means I don't have to take my fingers of WASD. On ANSI keyboards left shift is elongated whereas on ISO it's split into 2 keys; left shift & backslash. This is the reason I believe the ISO layout is objectively better for gaming. Most Americans miss out on this very useful bind as ANSI is the standard over there. Even so, I don't see nearly enough EU players make use of this bind either. It usually gets glossed over as if it wasn't even there, poor little fella.

What binds or series of binds do you use that you feel like no one else uses but you swear by its power!

So I’m very new to PC gaming, and I heard about modding, and I want to mod the heck out of abunch of games, but the thing is my computer is super expensive and I wouldn’t be able to even afford to replace parts for awhile if something happened to it, can mods damage hardware or harm my computer in any way? I know if it has malware it can but I’m talking about even the safest of mods

Epic Game Store is widely know for the free game copies they give every so often. I understand this is a tactic used to get more users/accounts on their storefront, and maybe get them to spend their money on full priced games later. I'm also aware a lot of people just get the free games and never install and play them - I myself do this, I never once installed their launcher.

However, I'm more interested in what kind of effects this might have on EGS users years down the line. I heard some time ago Epic does this so kids can build their own game libraries with these free games, so when they are old enough with their own money they will choose to stay on EGS - where all their games are - instead of jumping to another storefront/launcher, like Steam.

But, isn't Epic incentivizing the behavior of these EGS users expecting free games instead of buying them on their store? More often than not I've seen players complaining when EGS repeat games they gave away for free months or years prior, as if Epic has some obligation to aways give new games. I've seen people complain when EGS gives away small/indie games, instead of bigger AAA games. This might be a small subsection of the EGS userbase, but what if this growns and this strategy backfires on EGS years down the line? What would happen if one day Epic decides to not give more free copies of games?

No, this is not a post about me being worries about some million dollar company, I'm just curious to see the ramifications of this. I wanted to talk about this with other PC players.
