You never saw Mike Tyson at his height did you? I only saw a little, and I wanted to see if Iron Mike could stave off Father Time and capture a little bit of what used to be.

Ahhh… that’s what one of the announcers was saying, but it totally looked like a mouthpiece adjustment to me, more than a biting something.

Regardless, Iron Mike wasn’t himself.

Yeah, Paul was bouncing around like an idiot. Tyson didn’t have his legs and kept fucking around with his mouthpiece.

The whole fight looked like a kid who took a couple boxing lessons at the local fight gym challenged someone’s grandpa who used to fight.

In what universe do those other power generation methods even come close to nuclear power?

It would take about 800 wind turbines or 8.5 million solar panels to replace the power output of one nuclear reactor.

And the fissile material can be reprocessed after it’s been spent. Like 90% of the spent fuel can be reprocessed and reused, but the Carter administration banned nuclear waste recycling in the US for fears it would hasten nuclear proliferation.

Wind, hydro, solar, and geothermal are all great. Anything is better than coal or gas power generation. But to say these green power generation methods come close to nuclear… not a chance.

Aircraft stability and control is a fascinating field.

Their maneuverability is owed to the fact that they’re somewhat unstable to begin with. It’s been literal decades since I had the class, but a good way to think of the difference between a fighter jet and a commercial jet (maneuverability wise) is that a commercial jet’s stability is like rolling a small ball in a large bowl. You’ve got a lot of leeway on what you can do before the ball won’t eventually end back up in the center of the bowl. A fighter jet is the opposite… it’s like trying to balance that small ball on top of a basketball. If you place it perfectly, it will stay in place. A touch off center, it will begin to drift further off center faster and faster until it falls off completely.

That’s why it takes so much training and physical fitness to fly fighter jets. It’s almost like they’re actively trying to kill you. And that’s not just the modern computer controlled jets like the F-35 and F-22. The older jets were like that too, but I have to imagine less so. An F-18 can’t pull a 9g turn… the F-22 can, and I also understand it can fly itself while the pilot is unconscious for a few moments after that 9g turn…

Na… that’s a convenient coincidence. Funding an effective FEMA would make the Biden administration look good. This is the same bullshit that they pulled when they killed the border deal.

Man… it’s refreshing to see a Cardinals pitcher go 7 innings… I think Lance would have had it not started pissing down rain. Matz would have too, possibly but he was on a pitch count.

Hopefully tonight is more typical of what we’ll see out of the guys than what we saw in LA.
