The unemployment timeline needs to be extended to meet job availability. I get that a small number of people abuse the system, but most don’t and it can take well over 6 months for find a job.
I got laid off last year. Submitted over 200 applications, got 4 interviews, and took the first one that said yes—for $30k less than my previous job, and still that took 7 months.
So, without advocating that anyone do something about this. May personal opinion of people who work in jobs like ICE, is that they should be treated like a Nazi in WWII who stepped into a room of Allies holding hatchets.
