I have seen bits and pieces of the OG Ranma, so part of me wants to check out the remake. However, I am expecting to be pretty crunched for time next season, so I think I might end up waiting and then bingeing it all some time in the future.

I trawled through AniList for the 2020's and here are some I enjoyed that I don't seem to see people mention very much. Ten in no particular order:

  1. Brave Bang Bravern! - ridiculously fun show. Takes the piss out of every other mecha show that comes before it.
  2. Bofuri (and season 2) - a VRMMO-type show that never takes itself seriously with some really cute moments
  3. I've Been Killing Slimes for 300 Years and Maxed Out My Level - A "slow-life" isekai filled with cute characters that just struck the perfectly relaxing mood for me. Season 2 coming next year.
  4. Love After World Domination - A cute romcom between the red ranger and one of the evil organization's leaders. I will always lament the early cancellation of this manga, but the anime was great as well.
  5. Campfire Cooking in Another World with my Absurd Skill - Just a fun, laid-back isekai about cooking with zero stakes (and a really fun OP).
  6. Reborn as a Vending Machine, I Now Wander the Dungeon - Most people dismissed this show based on the title, but for those that actually watched it, it was surprisingly good. Not amazing...but definitely fits the underrated moniker.
  7. Endo and Kobayashi Live! - A villainess series that is just full of fluffy romance. If you like tsunderes, then this is right up your alley.
  8. Chillin' in Another World with Level 2 Super Cheat Powers - A series that starts with a painfully generic episode 1 before revealing in episode 2 that the actual genre of the show is romance instead of any kind of power fantasy with no harems allowed. A lot of people dropped it after just the first episode.
  9. TSUKIMICHI -Moonlit Fantasy- (and season 2) - Not sure how underrated this is, but I really enjoyed it, even as a source reader. I feel like this series has a small but dedicated fan base in the West.
  10. Level 1 Demon Lord and One Room Hero - This is a very silly fantasy show about a hero that has let himself go in retirement. As the show goes, it builds to some real touching, emotional stuff, but you just need to get through some fan service on the way there. Way better than I thought it was going to be.

Bravern is top of my list as well. Hell, Mother's Basement made a whole video about how everybody slept on Bravern despite how much ass it kicked.

Bofuri is a good answer. That show was such goofy fun. Also, I am not surprised to see 100GF there. So many people will write off shows just for having a harem tag. So, when a show comes along that is the harem-iest of harems, they don't even give it a chance.

I haven't watched the final episode yet or read the source to answer your question, but I agree. I much prefer the romance/SOL side of the show than the political gamesmanship and scheming side of the show.

The long title trend is originally due to how sites like syosetu work, where aspiring authors will write web novels that are then picked up by publishers and become light novels, which then become manga and anime. I wrote more in depth about it here already.

As far as I can tell, this series started as a manga though. So, the long title is not specifically due to how search works on syosetu, but just going along with the flow of others in the field.

I was happy to see a discussion about her dad, but it didn't really lead anywhere. Are we supposed to think that Wind Slicer is her biological father as opposed to her adoptive father due to the fighting differences? Or, has her adoptive father been hiding his true fighting style from her this whole time?

I wonder if Belle's predecessor and Clay's biological father might not be related in some way. Clay said that her father was somehow related to the Thieve's Guild. And, isn't it the thieve's guild that the predecessor disappeared one night in some kind of dispute?

Alright...supremely disappointing animation aside...we got some story developments this episode, which is nice to see.

The main thing that has left me confused is what Rachel is thinking. Did she know that Khun knew about her? That he planned on betraying her at some point? That is just about the only way that her actions make sense this episode. If that is the case, then I guess she decided to solve two problems at once by helping FUG lure Khun into a trap and get the threat to her killed in the process.

Something that doesn't add up for this though, is what next for Rachel? Where does her plan go from here? She struck a deal with FUG to kill Khun, but are they also going to carry her up the tower like Khun was planning to do?

So many questions. There are betrayals upon betrayals to the point that it is hard to keep up and make sense of it all.

What’s the point of making a FUG Slayer who doesn’t want to be a FUG Slayer?

I am wondering the same thing. To the best of my knowledge, their plan is to get him strong enough to climb the tower to kill the King of Jahad and become supremely powerful. Are they not concerned that when Bam becomes the undisputed most powerful being alive that he might not turn against them? I mean, I guess they might just feel so strongly about usurping Jahad that they don't mind dying at that point, but idk.

I haven't read the source for this series and I have even stayed away from all the PVs. However, every time I see source readers discuss this it sounds like a bunch of crazy people making stuff up. So, I honestly have no idea. I am expecting things to get weird.

I have heard good things about both Magilumiere and Trillion Game from source readers. So, if the buzz is good, I might have to try to find time to check them out.

Meta update: The discussion threads for Dan Da Dan are going to be run over in !dandadan@ani.social by @GordonFreeman@ani.social. So, rikka will not be making threads in this community. Instead, rikka will be making posts directing people over to the corresponding thread in that community.

As always, remember to be mindful of spoilers. If you want to know more about how to handle spoilers in this community, check the guide here (also linked in the sidebar).
