Is that list like my list? A mental list, also known as imaginary.

That's the far side.

I had it for at least a year and never came to properly clean it for use. It might be a bit silly but what made me fall in love with this machine was the colour selection button, not a lever, a button that cycles the three options.

I have a friend with a Selectric (I don't know if it was a 1 or 2) that he was trying to repair. Those innards were scary. Now I wonder if he ever managed to get it to work, I'll ask him next time I see him.

Yes, that works as intended.

Sorry, sometimes I try to be so concise that I drop all the details. What I'm trying to do is browse the communities of a single instance. Like when you hit the explore button in the search tab and you can see a long list of communities from all instances, then there's an option to see only those in your instance.

What I'm trying to find out is if there is something to type in the search bar that would return all the communities from one arbitrary instance.

No problem, that's what I've been doing but the app don't always want to catch those links.

First thing I tried. Searching lemmy.world and hitting the "search communities" option returns only those that have "lemmy.world" in their description independently of the instance. Searching @lemmy.world and hitting communities again returns no results.

Somewhere I read a two year old post that there was the option instance:lemmy.world to limit the search to that instance but doesn't seem to work.

Wait, no. Not on lemmyverse.net in a regular web browser.

I mean from inside the voyager app. Like when I hit the explore button in the search tab and I can see a list of communities but the filter options are only all, local or subscribed.

Is there a search parameter to get a list of communities?

I'm not sure which one is worse, either tells me that they didn't bother reading the message. It is hard for me to relate because I try to do my best to not send ted talk to a group chat.

Maybe I'd rather be ignored if they're not interested.

The worst part is that I know people that will use this regularly and also know people I'd be tempted to use it with because of their walls of text that I usually ignore.

After reading all the comments I think that what you need is a voice recorder, make entries Star Trek style and run the audio files through a transcription tool in bulk once a month or so. Or just keep them in audio format.

I was interested in making my own ink so I can have any colour I want.
I dissolved some oil paint in machine oil, in my first tries I used universal machine oil but it was too thick, so I tried sewing machine oil that was much thinner. That worked much better but it was still a bit too thick so I was having some trouble "making it run" along the ribbon, so I used lighter fluid as a thinner. It worked great.
I eyeballed everything so I can't give proportions of the ingredients, in a future more serious attempt I plan to take some measurements.

It's been a month and still hasn't dried on the ribbon and types well.

Down sides:
I still haven't found a good method for putting the ink on the ribbon, I put a pair of gloves and use my fingers so it gets a bit messy and it is slow.
The other down side was that didn't take into account that there was old ink on the ribbon that darkened my brown ink so much that looks mostly black.

Oil paint
Thin machine oil
Lighter fluid

At the top of the What's New tab there's the first line stating the last time the feed was updated.

I've been seeing for quite some time now an extra line there saying "Not loaded: 1". My guess is that one of the subscribed channels doesn't exists anymore. If that is correct, is there a way to know what channel is other than trying one by one?

If it something else, please, what is it? I won't loose sleep but it is bugging me enough to post about it after not being capable of googling (or duckducking) the answer.
