Tried to post an Ascii bin chicken but it looked weird.

Just commenting so we have more posts than the Sydney daily thread.

Also has anyone been to the Pacific Airshow. We decided to drive down yesterday and find somewhere along the beach to watch.

Ended up south of broadbeach before we could actually find a spot to park.

Most of the planes were pretty much specs on the horizon from that far away.

Westerlies have now arrived!

Ekka yesterday was absolutely packed... have never seen so many people there.

My body has become a petri dish, and some exotic new strain of respiratory disease is now being grown, fueled exclusively by overpriced ekka food and bertie beetles.

Need to add that to the list along with 'previously undiscovered superbug'

Have been advised by my wife that we are taking the kids to the Ekka tomorrow.

Currently taking bets on whether I come down with RSV, Covid, flu, or 'other' first.

Also searching 'hazmat suits near me'.

We've previously had a mortgage with Bank Australia and they were probably one of the worst in terms of the high interest rates they charged.

Everything came to a head recently when we tried to borrow some additional funds to purchase a new house. We'd signed a contract subject to 14 days finance and once we called Bank Australia they told us it would be 5 - 6 weeks before they could approve anything and would not even be able to start looking at anything for over a week.

Called our broker who got on to Macquarie and they had a valuer out at the property at 9am the next morning to start the approvals process.

Would never, ever use or recommend Bank Aus to anyone.

To echo my comment from the Melbourne thread. I think it's a good thing and wish more governments would call off projects as soon as they realise the cost is going to blow out.

Better to waste a small amount of money up front, than an extra $4B later.
