Let's be honest, you see someone walking alone wearing this and holding a knife on Halloween night or anytime of the year at night, it will be pretty terrifying.

All I want from my printer/scanner is to press print, and have it not change its IP address so Windows can’t find it.

Easy fix, go into your router and setup a local static IP for your printer. Sometimes called DHCP IP reservation.

It should give a list all devices and their mac address on your network. Select your printer, then put in the current local IP the printer is using or a new local IP (setting a new local IP will require you to turn your printer off and back on after you save the changes to ensure the new local IP is handed out to the printer.)

Save changes, and you should never have to worry about the printer changing local IP's ever again.

How about... Amne?

It's a Swahili girls name meaning Safe, Secure.

Our instance is a safe and secure place for those who are both furry and members of the LGBTQ+ community.

I feel like our instances mascot's name should reflect that.

But that is just me.

In a better society, Trump and Gosar both would have been executed for treason.

Be glad, you won't have to see a brown eye staring back at you.

If children connecting and accessing porn websites is such a big problem, why don't we teach parents how to block them in their router? Instead of funding a company that verifies people's age, the governments could fund the creation of a constantly updated domain blocklist for those pages, and there would be no security or privacy implications.

Don't get me wrong, I am in full agreement with you on the fact we should trust no one online to send our ID's in to be verified. The idea is absolutely criminal and reckless. I don't care if it is being done through a third party that merely gives you a token to access naughty sites.

It's all an abuse of power and should be cut off like a cancerous tumor.

But the problems with teaching parents to use a router means you will be limiting them down to one brand of router because every other brand has a slightly different interface. Or we introduce regulations to have a standardized interface across all routers.

And if it is anything like the old apple airport routers or even the Google Wifi or Google Nest routers you need a specific app installed to access their features and functionality.

I am not sure how it is in Europe or the UK, but in the US, not many parents are not technically inclined and not willing to go digging deeper into their router settings or look up ways to use the router to full effect to better shield their own kids from things like pornography.

All that most people know is that router goes burrr and that is it.

They look towards more technically inclined people to help them fix their computers, setup Plex, and maybe setup domain Blocklist if they have been informed about it.

Most people do not want a class teaching them how to use a router to shield their kids from things like pornography. They want the simple and easy solution like a Token system since it takes all the work of protecting their kids off their shoulders.

It makes governments like the US happy because many parents are lazy, they do not want to really raise their kid, so politicians will introduce laws like this because "it is to protect the children!"

A dog whistle I am all to sick of hearing...

Packmates.org is ok with NSFW stuff and it is run by our own Lemmy admin @Wander.

Number one rule with NSFW art on Mastodon in general? USE CONTENT WARNINGS! I cannot express this enough. Content Warnings let people know what the post contains and will keep it blurred till they have made an informed decision to click it to see the content that was blurred.

Also be sure to add alternate text that describes what is going on in the image itself. This is not so much for you as it is accessibilities for those with disabilities.

AAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!!! Runs away in absolute horror.

Title kinda says it all. When trying to browse New, cause I like to see new posts and new discussions cropping up, every 5-10 posts it seems to be a post from the Lemmy.online rss feed bot gathering posts from reddit and posting them here. And their is like one new post from a human inbetween. (・`ω´・)

This was rather... Annoying to say the least. It kinda bugged me because it feels like a bot run amuck trying to Karma farm when their is no karma to be earned here. (¬_¬;)

I like to see posts and discussions from the community here on Lemmy. Not stuff from Reddit because a bot is sharing it. (눈_눈)

Now I get it, sometimes their can be useful or interesting things shared by the bot and some people may want that. Some of you use it to get more yiff than you do here on Lemmy and I fault none of you for that. (Though I got an RSS reader on my Fedora install that takes care of the yiff content from reddit for me.) ( ̄ω ̄;)

Now I know it is a problem I have and I fixed it by blocking the bot. ( ´ ω ` )

But it does leave me curious, how many of you use the bot to get that extra dose of yiff or any other content from reddit? Or were you like me and blocked the bot due to how annoying it has become for you? (•ิ_•ิ)?

The artist is a Chinese artist named Jeacn.

Yes, they exclusively posts to e621.net nowadays. I checked all available reverse image search tools and cannot find their artwork anywhere else. They did have a DeviantArt account a long time ago, but it hasn't been updated in 14 years.
