Huge reason no one goes to cinemas anymore is cuz you can’t vape in there as freely as you can at home.

I assure you, as someone who doesn't smoke or vape, that is not the reason I don't go to cinemas.
On the contrary, being trapped in a room with dozens of smokers or vapers would further discourage me from going.

I mean using your real name does not depend on the platform you're using but more on how you're using it.
Pretty sure the majority of reddit users do not post under their real name and you could use a pseudonym on facebook if you wanted to.
Zuckerberg isn't going to check your ID when you sign up.

Your data isn't really more private on the fediverse, is it?
Everything you post is shared with myriad instances.
You might not end up just handing it to some large tech corp but you also give up any remnant of control over it.

Berlin clean and beautiful? This must be some alternate history.

Unfortunately in Germany this is only in the older city centers. It's far less common in newer "suburban" developments.

When someone openly shouts heil Hitler, I think I'm justified in ignoring their POV and calling them what they are.

The real joke is that they converted DB into a publicly traded company but never sold the stocks so the German state still hold 100% of the stocks and more than half of the board are politicians.

how did germany come to this

Neoliberal policies: austerity fetish, privatization of public infrastructure and the expectation that rail has to be 'profitable' led to massive under-investment.

In Germany, individual plug-in panels sell for as low as 200 euros, or about $217, at big box stores. Complete sets, including mountings, an inverter and cables, are about twice that cost.

Boneless chicken wings did come from a chicken with bones in it,

Sure but then someone prepared the chicken and decided that the outcome can be described as boneless. Personally, I would also expect the bones to have been removed.
You can debone chicken without turning it into pink slime.
I'd rather expect it to be made from another part of the chicken in the style of wings.
