Mensen stemmen veelal niet zozeer op een partij maar op een persoon. En met Timmermans die niet voor iedereen een blinkend schoon blazoen heeft, is een keuze voor Omtzigt best goed mogelijk.

He was sent to jail, finished his sentence, and is now a free man who qualifies for the Olympics. You could argue, and I'd agree, that his sentence for rape of a minor was way too low, but that is another discussion.
He committed a crime, did the time, and now qualifies.
