E2EE

But only through Google's RCS

Some developers don't want to deal with building an app for multiple versions. Sure some DEBs can work without needing to deal with that, but some don't.

Probably language settings

Safe to assume them that Apple will utilize the bare minimum for RCS.

When Apple implements RCS, was there any information on whether it'll be dependent on the carrier or if Apple will build their own RCS infrastructure? Cuz I suspect it'll be the former.

And if Apple does build their own RCS infrastructure, I highly doubt it'll have E2E encryption as that's essentially iMessage. Will E2E encryption work if one side is Apple and the other side is Google?

And for any RCS messages that doesn't go through Google, does this mean that RCS is still being used sans E2E encryption? What does it look like in the Messages app?

There are a bunch of responses. You're not seeing anything?

I know that KDE is working on HDR support for Plasma 6 (Wayland). Dunno how ready it'll be by the time it comes out, but its coming.

Other than Plasma 6, I don't think so.

I just finished Detroit: Become Human.

I decided to play it after I upgraded my Deck's SSD to 2TB.

And I've been spending a lot of time on Halo: Infinite.

I didn't need to. I didn't boot it up till yesterday to look for other causes, which was when I realized the fan died.

I discovered that the fan just died.

Sorry for this. I didn't check that old laptop till yesterday to check for other issues unrelated to Plasma, which was when I discovered that the fan died.

It's a spare laptop a friend gave to me recently.

Just wondering if such an option is possible on a phone that is totally Google-free or is virtually de-Googled?

I'm not sure if this is normal, but it seems that Plasma 6 (Wayland) feels overall slow on my laptop with Intel i5-6200U.

Operating System: KDE neon Unstable Edition
KDE Plasma Version: 5.90.0
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.246.0
Qt Version: 6.6.0
Kernel Version: 6.2.0-37-generic (64-bit)
Graphics Platform: Wayland
Processors: 4 × Intel® Core™ i5-6200U CPU @ 2.30GHz
Memory: 15.5 GiB of RAM
Graphics Processor: Mesa Intel® HD Graphics 520
Manufacturer: Dell Inc.
Product Name: Inspiron 5559

I only got this laptop recently from a friend so I have yet to test on X11 session. The only other time I've spent using Plasma was on a RTX 3060 Ti in a VM so it didn't feel as slow.

Is that normal?

Created bug report 477959.

"Chill your Champagne bottles – it’s official: the KDE Plasma 6.0 + KDE Frameworks 6.0 + KDE Gear 24.02 Mega Release™ that will take KDE software to the next level is going to happen on 28th February 2024! Let’s have a look at what I’ve been up to in the past two months, again working mostly on either Qt itself or dealing with its behavior changes on the application side."

Full view of my makeshift L-desk now:

2nd desk is also a bedside table in my bedroom.

I decided few months ago to downsize as I find myself needing my 2nd desk for other stuff other than for my GPU-passthrough VMs and laptop setup, but I still want the option to do that, so I got myself an LG DualUp, since it's one of the monitors that can do proper 16x9 when split and would require very minimal amount of config when going from full size to picture-by-picture.

  • Primary monitor: MSI Optix MAG342CQR
  • Secondary monitor: LG DualUp
  • Operating System: Kubuntu 23.10
  • KDE Plasma Version: 5.27.8
  • Primary theme: Breeze Dark
  • Icon Theme: Sweet-Red-Filled/Candy-Icons
  • System specs: https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/y7tBL9

Not sure if this is the best place to post it.
