Compelling.
And how would that be nostalgia-free?
Believe me, I am extremely aware.
Ironically, The Daily Show has moved to Paramount+ along with the rest of Trek (also ironically, with the exception of Prodigy).
So what you want is Star Trek that...had nothing to do with Star Trek, because literally anything using the title, concept, or characters will be, by definition, "built on nostalgia." Got it.
For sure - I'm certain the supplements will be useful even with the 2E rules.
Surely there are surgical options you could explore first.
Meaney had always struck me as the ultimate working actor, fairly ambivalent about Star Trek beyond it being a job (which is fine).
It's hard to imagine him turning down an offer, were it too come in.
I think 1E and 2E are supposed to be pretty compatible.
But yeah...the 1E core rulebook is not great when it comes to explaining the actual rules in a way that's concise and easy to reference in the middle of a session.
I believe Alex Kurtzman said at SDCC that there was only one more regular role to be cast, so I guess this is that.
I think it works pretty well at all ages.
Yeah, I think Tilly and Vance can serve to "pass the torch" just fine, though I'm excited at the possibility that the other characters could pop up at any time.
