Doesn't matter. You haven't understood anything I've written anyway. You just keep repeating silly myths which were debunked long ago.

wtf? That makes no sense on any level.

Ask people who were born in the 60s and 70s who they were dating when they were 16 or 20. My experience is not unique at all. It's all over pop culture too. Attitudes toward young adults (aka teens) were very different and much healthier back then.

Teenagers are adults, and the general public is extremely bad at judging risk realistically. - This is one area where we have gotten far far worse over the last 50 years. Read Lenore Skenazy's book "Free-Range Kids" - Everyone's terrified of phantoms so they're hovering over their sons and daughters 24/7 and doing real damage.

Let's look at risk: Germany's age of consent is 14, but somehow they don't have a problem. Everything is fine there. In the US where the age of consent is much higher everybody is constantly screaming about how groomers are raping their young people. Hmmmmmm. How is this possible? How did the "protection" backfire? or are Americans just victims of fear-mongering bullshit to the point where they are terrified of non-existent "predators" they believe are lurking around every corner?

The vast majority of brain development happens in infancy ages 0-3 and during puberty ages 9-13.

Other than that cerebral change is gradual.

The crisis is real. Young adults need protection, but from the nasty bigoted infantilization which is destroying them.

We MUST

Stop treating teenagers like dirt.

Stop telling them they're retards with defective brains.

Stop criminalizing their sex lives.

Stop robbing them of basic human rights.

For centuries bigots been using "their brains are defective" to justify horrendous treatment of women, Africans, etc

They always use pseudo-science to back up their obnoxious claims

Today they use exactly the same shit arguments to demean and degrade young adults (aka teens)

In the 40s the bigots didn't have YouTube, but it's the same nasty justification for heaping hate on a demographic you despise.

All those cute pictures of brains from MRI scans that made everyone think that under 25s are idiots...

have NO CONNECTION to behavior at all.

Brain science knows about 100x less than people think it does.

The importance of the prefrontal cortex has been WILDLY exaggerated.

The brain is very poorly understood.

and honestly if we really believed any of the pop-science myths about our brains being retarded until we're 25 we'd never let 20 year olds join the army...

You know we have 20 year olds working as nurses in hospitals responsible for our lives and our health, right?

but you wanna claim that their brains are deficient?

Sorry that's just stupid AF on the face of it.

Popular teen brain myths get debunked by scientists all the time. Most people keep believing the myth anyway.

Between ages 13 and 50 you lose about 20% of your gray matter, and gain about 10% of white matter.

These are not dramatic differences.

Teen brains and middle aged brains are very similar.

Almost all of what the public believes about brain development has been debunked.

Slate did an excellent summary: https://slate.com/technology/2022/11/brain-development-25-year-old-mature-myth.html .

I gave multiple examples showing how your assertion is patently wrong :-D

You then threw in some nonsense about old movies. If you wanna be way off topic, go for it.
