Talk is cheap, he should start by not betraying the UK working class at every opportunity.

yeah. i do not doubt for a second scientists can bullshit up a nice statistic where any country on the planet gets a "100% renewable green sticker well done buddy". those are smart people.

if it says 100/100 and the US is fracking the shit out of its country something is left out. most likely by design. What we measure becomes our goals, if they say it is 100/100 that means keep doing what you are doing.

e: I can't imagine italy deservers one either, just to be clear, or the 96 in austria where I live. Lots of wells from people on the countryside are deemed unsfae bacuse of fertilizer pollution

Which is even wilder. They are acting like agricultural and oil-drilling practices in the US (and elsewhere too) are not degrading the global fresh water base.

This is propaganda.

US: 100/100 Score. Looking at you, Flint Michigan :D I don't know what cherrypicking bullshit they had to do to get that result.

"I just hate bailing out europe again" "I fully share your loathing of european free-loading" (screeneshots in the article)

if any of you were wondering what our "allies" think of us.

e: sorry link got deleted

Free trade means: Specialized economic zones, investor state dispute settlements and flacid environmental regulation. I haven't read a single free trade agreement that is beneficial to workers or the mass of people in either country or their democratic rights of self determination.

Silent coup by matt kennard, or any of his interviews on that topic if you are interested.

Elon is an idiot with too much power. Weidel is dangerous. She purposefully and strategically deploys this rethoric. The nazis weren't stupid, they were really smart in how they achieved some of their goals. They were evil.

She got everyone to talk about this, even tough the substance was basically zero. This will get amplified to everyone, the poeple who know this is bullshit knew beforehand but it shifts the overtone window ever so slightly

That is important.

Austrian here.

There were 3 parties in the coaliton talks. ÖVP - christian conservatives SPÖ - social democrats NEOS - liberals

Theoretcally ÖVP and SPÖ have a majority, but it is too slim for their tastes.

There were two possible junior candidates - NEOS or Die Grünen (Green Party) The current government is ÖVP and Greens.

From my understanding of the news of today the 3 parties stances are as following:

NEOS: Blame SPÖ for not being willing to make sacrifices to enhance the economy. SPÖ: Blame the other parties for not considering any form of wealth/inheritance tax.

The thing was "controversial" from the start because the party with the most votes, the FPÖ (far-right) was not included in the talks. SPÖ and NEOS were never considering them, but the ÖVP leadership only talked about their head (Herbert Kickl) being too far right the rest of the party being "reasonable". The FPÖ has had numerous neo-nazi scandals over the past 50 years. https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Liste_rechtsextremer_und_neonazistischer_Vorf%C3%A4lle_in_der_FP%C3%96

The discrepancy for the three parties is too big to make meaningful change, they do not aree on core policies like immigration and economic direction. So NEOS canceled the talks today.

The result will be FPÖ - ÖVP so a right government OR their might be another election but everybody knows that FPÖ will get an even bigger share of the votes.

IMO the options were grim from the start. A limp government of some fiddling with taxes and slowly empoverishing the population or a hard-right coalition of nationalist & protectionist economic redistribution to the top. Life will be worse here for the foreseeable future.
