Unlikely to happen. From what I remember, even newer things (treesitter) aren't loaded as modules but are instead compiled into the core.

There's a thing called org-download that does a similar thing but I don't know how trustworthy it is.
Crdt.el? Of course, both are completely tied to their respective editors.
