Hell of a lot more useful than the 3d objects directory that they added in 10

I joined the discord at some point and it was too fast to pay attention so I left. It definitely seems like a different platform for a community like this.
I see it as well. If I had to guess, I'd imagine it is a dev feature built into Lemmy UI for debugging on mobile that was mistakenly left on.
It's a bit annoying that the Reddit mods are reopening the community after moving a bunch of people elsewhere. Now we have a Raddle, Lemmy, Discord, and Reddit 196 each with different moderators.
Considering the Reddit has almost 50 times the number of subscribers as the Lemmy, I would assume that will be the most popular one, though we will probably have a higher percent of active users.
I would hope that eventually the different mods of the different 196s could do some form of cross-site collaboration to have unity between the 196s but I don't know what that could entail. Maybe the next 196 r/place could shout out the Lemmy community for example.
Android really needs a sandbox feature for apps you don't trust (or just any by Meta)
I've honestly like my Chromecast as I can watch legally obtained media and pirated media on the same box. VLC also has native support for streaming to Chromecast. I remember it was a pain to setup for some reason, but I haven't had many issues since then.
Going to Lemmy to complain about "left-wing extremists" is kind of funny especially since the instance's only real political stance is promoting gay/trans rights.
Also it is really funny to put a Lemmy advertisement on Reddit's thing
This was such a bizarre move. You'd think if they bothered to make an ama, they'd use it to announce a compromise or something, otherwise why bother? What was accomplished by the ama on Reddit's part?
Sad to see Spronkus not on r/Place this time, it would be cool if we could get a Lemmy/KBin Place working by April.
From what I understand, when the directory was added VR, MR, and 3d printing were just becoming more main stream. It is easy to see why some at Microsoft believed that an easy to use modeling applications like Microsoft 3d Builder would be as essential as Microsoft Paint. With hindsight, we can see that 3d printing is still too complicated and not useful enough for the average computer user and most VR users are either content to use models from others or to use more complicated tools like Blender.
