There's still good reasons to join a union! Most importantly, unions advocate for their industry in government, which will benefit everyone regardless. Many will also offer direct benefits such as special discounts, but that'll depend on each union. Mine, for example, offers a discount on AT&T phone plans and even a union credit card.

Agreed but skip the movie and read the book. 1000x better.

You obviously haven't listened to The Car.

Tranquility Base... & The Car are best listened to all the way through. The songs are good, but somehow better with the whole album around them.

There is more to laws than a binary "legal or not" determination. They also include how a crime is to be punished. That part of a law is much more sensitive to shifting cultural standards.

Take for example the discussions regarding murdering in self-defense. It used be treated like any other murder, but we realized that it was unfair to would-be victims. That's how we got "stand your ground" laws. However now people are criticizing these laws for encouraging murder and paranoia, a significantly unintended consequence. There been difficulty addressing "stand your ground" because they are entrenched into case law.

A sunset clause would give easier access to the people for reassessment of "stand your ground."

Israel is trying to sell the story that they are victims to Palestinian aggression. The prisoner trade undermines that story because this shows that Israel has a lot of prisoners who are not warfighters. This begs the questions: why is Israel arresting so many civilians, and how are they able to pull that off? The answer is that Israel is the vastly dominant force in this conflict.

Palestinians aren't evacuating because they have no where to go. Egypt has closed its borders to them, and Israel surrounds them otherwise. Israel has also made evacuations very difficult. There have been reports of Israel giving mere hours notice to evacuate and then attacking early anyway.
