Yes, that's the point. Otherwise the majority can pass any legislation they want. What would be the purpose of the minority if they can't block anything the majority wants to do?

It's not always wanting to stick to what they know. I have a few programs I hate and every time I have to use them I try to find a better alternative. Unfortunately, none of the other programs I tried had the functionality I needed to use them.

Yes, it does, especially when it's something people think is weird. I am a guy in my 20's and recently started learning to knit and I still have people telling me not to do it because it's weird. You just have to do what you want to do and give 0 fucks about what others think
