I hate that I’m linking to Reddit, but I’m just reminded of this.

OT, but remember you can always use an archived link instead of a live one.

It seems it was done to marginally improve serde_derive build times? And just on x86_64-unknown-linux-gnu?

It feels a pretty weird course of action, even if I can understand his point of view his official stance of "My way or the highway" seems a bit stronger than needed, especially considering the amount of problems - both moral and pratical - this modification arises.

I don't know. If he really feel so strongly about it the only real option would be an hard fork, but a project of that magnitudo and so integrated in the ecosystem is really not easy to both manage or substitute.

Overall it kind of leave a sour taste, even if - I repeat - I understand it is his time and his decision to make.

it might have been an automated action triggered by reports.

It could well be, but knowing how terse and opaque the site-wide moderation is on Reddit I fear we will never really know. The important thing is that it is now back and even if it was a clumsy attempt at censorship by some of the fan base, as you hypothesize, it failed.

I went back and checked and it seems I kind of remembered it right, when it was first released on GOG there was some kind of version incompatibility with the Steam one: Link
You can see it in the SKSE page too, there's a version specific for GOG: Link

But reading in the gog forums it seems this is not a problem for Fallout 4: Link

We'll have to try and see! ✌️

This is indeed a great summary. I never really modded it, so that too will be a new experience. I hope mods will works with the GoG version!

I remember the ones for Skyrim needed some kind of patching? Or it was only for the SKSE related one? Aaah, that too will be a journey on itself. Haha!

I think Reddit might have automatically taken it down based on user reports and the content policy due to this part being taken NSFW?

I genuinely have no idea. Not even the mods there seem to know, but it was brought back, so maybe an error - or automatic script - of some kind? I fear we'll never know.

Thank you! I read most of it in snippets but this is much easier to follow. It’s so terrible and was what prompted me to unsubscribe.

You are very welcome. I can only hope that the current visibility of her story will help others, in similar situations of distorted power dynamics, understand that what they are living is nor normal nor acceptable, and give them the courage to right it.

Sure. There's no reason for you to trust my word: Here's a comment from the moderator of the LTT subreddit saying that it was indeed deleted and then brought back: Archived snapshot Link | Reddit comment permalink

You are welcome.

EDIT: Added archive.org link.

Finally! Not the best game ever made, but one I really enjoy nonetheless.

I can't wait to play it again: having left my Steam library behind it's always a struggle not being able to replay some games missing on gog.

It seems the deletion got reverted.

You can find more information in the post "Madison on why she quit" in this community.

To give a really short and unworthy TLDR Madison was an employee of LMG and have shared her - honestly abysmal and abusive - experience working there.
Some noteworthy quotes:

I was asked about my sexual history, my boyfriends sexual history, "how I liked to fuck".

I was told that certain issues were "sexual tension" and I should just "take the co-worker out on a coffee date to ease it out"

I was told I was chunky, fat, ugly, stupid. I was called "retarded" I was called a "faggot"

My work was called "dogs--t" I was called "incompetent".

"I think the reason you try to be funny, is because you lack any other skills." smiled then walked away.

I watched co-workers get what I had asked for weeks before they did. It took 2 months to get mine.

Also apparently some managers didn't like me because I "hadn't gotten drunk with them before" Which was said in that haha just jokin (but actually I'm serious) tone

I sincerely invite you to read the whole thread where she shared her story: https://threadreaderapp.com/thread/1691693740254228741.html

It seems that the Reddit admins are currently deleting all threads that link to Madison's experience.

This is the work of the Reddit's (site) admins, not the subreddit moderators. In fact it seems it is getting removed site-wide.

EDIT: It seems the removal got reverted and the post brought back.

It seems Reddit is removing it from everywhere, even the one in pcmasterrace got nuked. It would be interesting to know the reason, but we all know how transparent Reddit's sitewide moderation policies are.
