It doesn't really work at all in my view, which is why you hear xi as a pronoun so rarely.

I don't understand why they/them pronouns isn't the option here. It's already the default if you don't know a person's gender.

You, your, and you again, are all gender neutral already.

I don't see the point of this.

Why not just use the bottom line for third person?

I was wondering what the leader of the CCP had to do with NZ for a moment.

Also, I keep reading OP's comments in the voice of Gollum.

The most common use for AI in the future will be sifting through all the AI sludge to find content actually made by a human.

I can see adverts being created specifically for viewers of one show in the near future.

I respect the sentiment, but the project was on track to be more than a billion dollars more than the initial estimates, which would have been a cost overrun of more than 100%

That's a colossal blow out.

They were oddly quiet when the project got canned, and there were even a few admissions that the cost of the project had blown out to an unacceptable level.

I think Labour know their handling of the project will be brought up again if they protest.

If it is, Nicola's name will be forever tied to it. And every time it breaks down, that comment will be brought up.

That's been done in a way with a catamaran service, the Fast Cat ferries were brought in to compete with them. I think they sailed from Porirua.

Part of the problem is you would have to base yourself in Port Underwood, which is kinda the middle of nowhere, which would erase some of the time savings.

We've had far smaller vessels in the past that have been rail enabled though, even smaller than what we currently have.

An argument against moving is we wouldn't just have to build the port, we would need road, rail, and all the utilities as well, whereas in Picton they're already there.

If our government managed to blow out the projected cost of upgrading our existing infrastructure by more than the cost of the boats themselves, can you imagine what they'd do if they tried to build a whole new port somewhere?

Although I do like the idea of moving to somewhere like Port Underwood.

God damn it, not again.

Some quite out of touch comments in here, I think. Saying "unlikely they would imitate the stylish apartment blocks that can be seen in the likes of Paris or Rome." when a large chunk of our population currently don't have a hope of ever owning a home is pretty elitist, in my view.

They also mention 50m2 as being considered the minimum for banks to lend to you, I live in a three bedroom house that's 100, a living space for one person can definitely be less than half that.

I really hope we can get more dwellings built that are affordable for a single person, that's something currently missing from our market, I feel.

Quite a fascinating series of events actually, it sounds like the landlord/realtor has let her attitude cost her a large amount of money, and will continue to do so if she appeals the case.

It's good to see her getting pulled up like this though.

Quite fascinating that illegally manufacturing cigarettes is now a worthwhile endeavour for someone.

Updated story

They undid the bolts, and it fell over.

There is an article linked within that one that goes into more detail, but the cause of the grounding has been confirmed as a steering failure.

She's a long way up the shore, so it will take a lot of force to get her off the beach, I think.

I've never seen an entire tower fall over like that, that's kinda terrifying.

This is such a strange thing to require someone to know, especially when she doesn't deal with Maori land, and all sale is the same legally regardless of the ethnicity of the buyer. And the justification given for making this mandatory is incredibly tenuous, in my view.

How does this keep happening? Taking public transport shouldn't be anywhere near as dangerous as it currently is, this is getting ridiculous.

By the comments made by the person being interviewed, it sounds like this was also a case of arson?

Rees said he was having a nap in his room on the second-storey on Sunday afternoon when he heard someone walk up the stairs and say, "set fire to the place".

"All of a sudden, smoke came billowing over my door," Rees said.

This is great news, and something that should have been done a long time ago. Also, fuck Fletcher building.
