Unfortunately things won't really change until the business model changes. Production companies syphon the money to the top, leaving animators and anime companies with little resources to have a good environment.

Not a good look for the future. Anime is still a somewhat niche market outside of Asia that it's hard to have two anime focused streaming platforms succeed. With Crunchyroll having Sony's backing and all that it entails, hidive was always going to be second fiddle
