No way. For a start you have to have some idea of where you're going.

Also you have to be in charge of a vehicle that doesn't run people over. Though I guess that technically depends on how many shifts you want to do

The picture is not flattering either, she looks haggard and confused. And what's going on with her hand? Begging for a private eye bubble

I mean I always found his cartoons annoyingly unfunny but I don't think there's anti-Semitism in this one. The general state of newspaper political cartoons actually being funny is pretty pathetic, they're still about as good as The Day Today's physical cartoonist Brandt.

But back on topic I it certainly looks like there's no grounds for anti-Semitism for this one.

I'm guessing the 2 uses you already know are 'joke' and 'to retch/nearly vomit'?

Another meaning of 'gag' is to physically tie something around their mouth to stop them from speaking (like in films when people get material or tape in their mouths to muffle their cries for help in a kidnap scene? That material would be the 'gag')

Obviously in this instance it's not a literal gag, although I'm sure there's plenty of people who wish it could be. A 'gagging order' is a metaphor for not being able to speak about things

Oof - I'm quite happy with recons but for some that would be a tough call... :p

Also you'd miss out on the first Dalek adventure. It's not the best maybe but it's probably the story that saved the show and gave it mainstream appeal.

I am a big fan of 60s historicals though and Marco Polo is where the first TARDIS crew feel like a unit.

I mean my options as a fan growing up in the wilderness years was basically whatever I had on video/whatever I could borrow or copy off someone else.

And my options now as a father are quite limited to 'does it have Daleks/Cybermen in?' That said he watched Midnight recently. He thought it was really funny.

Overshadowed by what came after but definitely still stands up today. I love 'Just' (the video for that is awesome too!)

I think a lot of the 14th pictures released so far generally have him looking shocked/clueless/mildly confused... But yeah that one is definitely not flattering!

Late to the party, sorry but... It's an awful serial. They had a decent idea, dropped the ball completely, and did it properly with The Mind Robber a few years later.

I'm looking forward to seeing what RTD does with the toymaker, I feel sure he'll make it into something interesting!

If it's a permanent fixture it could be a Britbox killer for me... I suspect it'll just be for the anniversary period.

Still great news though!

The linked article probably hypothesises it best by saying the caste system has things in common with Hitler's racism (with the Jews as the untouchables and the Aryans as the high castes); but it genuinely seems like one of those cultural quirks that doesn't have a particular reason.

They sell Hitler mouse mats.

This is about misinformation on social media plays a part in war and journalism

The reshuffle, thought to have been deftly managed by Sue Gray, made a shadow cabinet heavy with stalwarts from the Blair-Brown era

I don't know about other people but I really was hoping for more than a sequel to the Blair years. I mean I get they need experience but the Tories are on the ropes, the Centrists in the party have had 13 years to come up with new ideas...

I mean yes Fun House, but Knightmare for the win surely... Also does anyone else remember Round The Bend? I used to love that!

So I'm finally switching to Firefox (admittedly for the quite shallow reason that Chrome has dropped its dark mode for websites toggle)

Wondered if anyone had any pro tips? I've installed uBlock Origin and Dark Reader extensions. I've made an account so it'll synch tabs etc across my tablet and phone. Just wondered if Firefox on mobile had any nice features worth trying out

I think this is a contender for the worst opinion column I've read this year - completely pointless, irrelevant and come on Matt couldn't you think of anything a bit more interesting that happened this week?

I rewatched this again today and I actually quite like bits of it it I just don't understand what the hell is going on. How much of it is 'real'? Is any of it? Reece Shearsmith's character says he's just there to make a good story to keep us watching... So did The Doctor even land?

What are other people's thoughts on the plot of this story?

The Day Today – The satire of news which will continue to be relevant for as long as news programmes think they’re more important than God.

I wrote this as part of the start of a project I'm writing about stuff that has had a massive influence on me - Chris Morris programmes definitely have. For a programme that is that is roughly 30 years old this hasn't dated very much to my mind... whether that's a worrying thing or not is moot but it's still extremely funny!

There was no finished script or even an ending and a key cast member became fatally ill during the production. Three decades after the release of the landmark Hollywood thriller, the cast and crew …

I got an invite code and so spent a bit of time browsing around because I'd heard good things about it. But I was surprised at how basic and non-diverse it all is. The forums are preset and are very generic. The conversations are definitely better than Reddit, but no better or worse than the ones I've had with people on Fedi.

Kbin is definitely my new home but I do like checking out the other options - I'd just heard really good things about Tildes and it definitely didn't match up with what I was playing about with today. Anyone else had a go at it? What's your take?

Do people here actually think this is true? I'm not so sure myself. There may be the odd episode but I'm quite doubtful that there's masses of episodes just being sat on by collectors.
