That's their biggest criticism for their actual cars right now. They looked futuristic back 2012, but they look the same now. The other manufacturers have caught up with design and software. Now, they can be out produced into oblivion. That's why Elon and other C suites at Tesla have been shedding shares, and Elon keeps trying to pump the stock.
About to be? They've already been paying extra for the privilege.

Because the time frame that TNG takes place in. It was a peaceful era and the Galaxy Class ship was designed for prolonged exploration and ambassador missions. Due to the long periods in space the Federation designed the ship to accommodate families of the Starfleet officers. That's also why the ship could separate, the battle bridge could go into combat while the civilians stayed behind in the saucer section. With these long voyages and family aboard they thought it was important to include mental health being an importance, so important that Troi was a bridge officer.
Voyager was a smaller ship made purely for scientific research and wasn't supposed to be gone for so long. Also, after the discovery of the Borg, the Federation changed their ship designs to have more combat in mind.

These days I setup ollama with open webui to host my own ai. Then you can connect Searxng to that and have the AI search the web for you and return no nonsense results.

A long time ago, I learned a way to do something that had a similar effect. Most places I've worked allow you to have a split deposit. So, I have two checking accounts at my bank. Add up all your monthly recurring expenses, then have a split deposit so that enough money goes to one of the checking accounts for the recurring expenses, anything leftover goes to your other checking account. You can spend all the money in the "spending" account because your bills are covered by the "bills" account.
