I could've sworn I read something a few years ago about some scientists genetically modifying or identifying this mutant variant of bacteria that was able to outcompete the natural stuff, but don't produce the stuff that harms teeth. Was sometime in the 80s but the FDA completedly blackballed it.

Kinda wish they'd do something with hydroid tbh. Love the look but the kit bores the hell out of me.
I personally buy multiple bricks of cocaine, break them into smaller portions and then sell them locally for a profit. My suppliers are happy to sell to me, the people in my town are happy to be able to buy it, and I'm happy because I make profit by marking the portions up for more than I buy the bricks for in the first place. Everyone wins here, this requires little more than some money to invest initially and some plastic baggies. If you're looking for passive income I would highly suggest you look in to selling cocaine!
It is a bit more complicated than that. Basically, people you play with won't care so long as you've painted it to a reasonable standard and there isn't some massive size difference that'd give some notable advantage or disadvantage compared to official minis. The same is true of official ones where people are picky about unpainted plastic but its likely more a thing with printed ones. Independent game stores also won't really give a shit since you're likely buying paints and stuff from them anyway.
GW stores are the ones that will have a problem with it, along with tournaments they host. I have heard stories of people getting shit for using forgeworld stuff (which is GW's speciality site basically, they sell the really big models and some more niche like, regiment-specific stuff) in stores because it isn't something the stores themselves will specifically sell. This is because of corporate policy though, no one wants to lose their job.
It actually might be ventoy yeah. I had some recent issues with it but things worked fine with other software.
Occasionally a bad package gets pushed out, part of the nature of rolling distros. What I'll give them credit for is their forums, seems to be the primary support spot and a quick search points you to recent threads on any fuck ups that occur. Someone usually figures out which package is the issue and mentions it, then you can downgrade it pretty easily.
There's a mod on Nexus that makes it at least comparable to other decks if you upgrade it once or twice after crafting it. Gives you more slots for hacks and I think more RAM, also alters the blackwall gateway hack to be faster too.
