Auzy
As an Australian, I'd also be happy for this. Even after winding the tariffs back, trump is still a Nazi and as long as he's winning votes, the US can't be supported
Id rather buy EU too
At least on Reddit, i was getting blasted because I pointed out vapers here in Australia were constantly breaking the laws and were using vaping as an excuse to vape inside "because it's just water vapor".
If it's just water vapor, then you don't need to do it in the cabin of a train mate.. or right at the entrance of the supermarket so every one needs to breathe in your smoke when they enter
Over smokers in general. To make things worse, a lot of "free thinkers" tend to be smoking. Because nothing demonstrates your ability to think independently by being conned into using an addictive substance that harms you
It sounds like you want the best of all worlds
If you want cheap rent and all that, the solution is to buy, not to rent
Yes, it requires more responsibility, but that's life.
So what's your solution then for rentals?
You complain if they put incentives to stop buying multiple properties and increase the availability to people who want to stop renting, you complain if they don't?
Negative gearing mainly benefits wealthier people, and I know we had customers with 14+ houses they owned. They're the main problem, because the more properties they buy, the bigger power they have over the market (monopolies).
There already is a first home owners grant which benefits first home buyers (I know, because I used it).
They need to add incentive for people to stop buying multiple properties, so more people can stop renting, and eliminating negative gearing could help with that.
Unless of course you're complaining because you never want to buy?
As others have said, would be good to have it mandatory for investment properties (with less subsidy). But still not a bad thing to have it for property owners too. Every bit is needed.. A better solution to rectify the rental situation is eliminate negative gearing.
That being said, I own my property and really looking forward to these changes. Home batteries were something I was considering (but was waiting for a rebate). I was also looking at new insulation too, as my neighbors have been f**king loud and there are too many dickheads on dirt bikes illegally traveling down my road (and wanted to reduce the noise in my house)
So, happy with these changes. If Greens can match them, I'll be super happy with voting for them.
There will always be a small number of people that complain.. People also complained about seat belts..
In reality, I suspect very few people would care otherwise
If you consider that on a lot of other types of races there is mandatory equipment too which changes, I don't think they'd care, provided that it affects all of them equally. At an olympic level or national level, maybe different, but otherwise, doubtful..
There are even people complaining that helmets "are less safe" right now. It's really a nothing issue once bikes have them by default
I am want to sell my jeep.. Been waiting for a 4wd which is cheap enough though, with enough range. Don't need towing capacity at all, but need the capabilities if things go to crap (I operate a hiking group, and at least 1 or 2 overnight trips we went on, the weather turned to complete crap the next day and we needed high clearance to get out of it.. But places like Falls Creek at 450km from me (so 900 round trip), so range is somewhat important too, but I do accept that on the way home from some of these things, I might charge
Ideally want an EV though with enough range. Of its a Hybrid, I'd only need something with only a tiny pissy petrol engine, for emergency use that can be disabled mostly.
Really, no idea why people wouldn't want an EV if one suited
This is something I've been waiting for, for ages, and is the reason I didn't get any previously (because the interest free loan didn't make sense, because of the risk of batteries dropping faster than any savings from the loan)
If it's a good deal, I'll likely buy more Solar panels too and double them from 6.6kw (5kw inverter).
Obviously, wouldn't be buying a tesla powerwall, but ideally something AC coupled still (so really hoping BYD makes something like that)
I liked the idea.. But, I have a massive pile of pink batts sitting above my bedroom at the moment (from before I bought the house). And they're likely so compressed now, they're unusable (I plan to replace them with cross thatched insulation to reduce sound from outside, as I only have blow in at the moment)
