Some of the plot you outlined is straight out of the Dune prequels that were written by Herbert's son. In the prequels, Arrakis was discovered by a group of escaped slaves that stole a ship during an uprising, about 10000 years before the main plot if Dune, and they were called Free Men.

Not defending the show at all, it sounds like another snoozfest from HBO, but I have read most the books so I'll probably give it a watch out of curiosity. Can't be worse than the 2000 Dune miniseries.

He's from Alabama, and Trump has a 52 seat Repilican held senate with a majority enough to expel anyone who's not in favor with the GröpenFührer.

Stop putting words in my mouth and stop with the useless witch hunt. I did vote and voted blue down the line. Was I happy voting for Harris? No, but I understood the importance of this election.

Yes, things are going to be "so much worse now", but bitching at strangers on the internet helps no one. Go join an organization and voluteer some of that energy where it can actually make a difference.

Not for you, but it's an issue if you're using Mac Minis as unattended service devices that are hard mounted and will occasionally need to be reset by hand (think kiosks and AV systems in conference room).

Yeah no. When that mouse dies in the middle of a project call, and you have to scramble to open your laptop lid to get to the track pad, and that flips your display layout while you're sharing screen: no thanks, I'll stick with any other mouse.

You need to go touch grass if you're on here trying to interrogate people on their voting choices.

Hah lol no. PFAS are so pervasive already that you get exposure from wind coming off the ocean at a beach. Only way the 1% can keep themselves safe from pollutants would be to buy hermetically sealed bunkers to live in and never come out. Oh wait, never mind...

Lol wut? Even on Windows 11, I can use a local account with zero online signup. Linux is fantastic, I have two machines running it, but there are some specific softwares that are still Windows dependent (think video editing, music production, VFX).

OO ShutUp+ has no problem disabling Recall and I've had no file explorer issue from it. I also had to rerun OSU+ after each update as its a setting Microsoft resets.

You got a source on that?

And vote against their own interests, like prop 33 (rent control).

Interesting to watch the numbers change as ballots continue to be counted. There's still a huge amount of uncounted mail-in ballots.

Newsom may like to show up as a liberal crusader, and he does like to defend rights on social issues, but the guy has been selling California down the river to his corporate masters since he was mayor of San Francisco.

The fact that he heavily campaigned against prop 33, which would have made rent control legal, says everything.
