That netbook is not what I would consider a ThinkPad. And distro wise, is crunchbang still a thing? Something simple with openbox or max xfce would probably be a smart choice. This thing won't be fun for builds or other compute heavy tasks. For browsing the web and chats it's probably fine
As a software guy, I love this. People building and running software products don't need project managers. We ned product owners/managers. It's a product, it has users, it doesn't have an end date.
In this case I have too little insight. But it's quite clear how biased these reports are in Germany. Anyone not absolutely German is immediately a terrorist and every white, German dude is a confused loner. Media never suspects that mental issues based on trauma from war and refugee journeys might be a good reason or that guys voting for right wing extremists and killing "woke" people might have anything to do with their political views.
Tried that many times. It has given me the exact same place for slightly cheaper than AirBnB once. Other times it was more expensive but most often of simply had worse choices.

Like with so many "tech giants", they had a great idea but greed is spoiling it. I wish we had more "public infrastructure" for this. I'd love to have OSS, tax-funded or at least heavily regulated SoMe, video sharing, home swapping/renting, local marketplace, ... Those should not be industries, they should be part of our society's fabric like the fire department or trash pick-up.
