Dallas Cowboys defensive end Sam Williams was arrested by Frisco police Sunday night on charges of possession of a controlled substance and unlawful carrying of a weapon, per a police department spokesperson.

The controlled substance charge, for alleged possession of THC, is a low-level state felony and the unlawful carrying of a weapon is a misdemeanor, according to Frisco police. A source earlier told the Star-Telegram the drug was marijuana. THC is the substance in marijuana that causes a high and can come in different forms.

Williams, 24, played in the Cowboys’ 22-14 loss in Seattle on Saturday. He returned with the team early Sunday morning.

The Cowboys declined to comment through a spokesman. The team is aware of the arrest.

The Cowboys had Monday off. Williams practiced with the team on Tuesday.

Under Texas law, medical marijuana use is legal under limited circumstances for people experiencing epilepsy, seizure disorders and several other conditions. Recreational marijuana products with THC levels over 0.3% are illegal, including products brought into Texas from states where weed is legal.

This is Williams’ second run-in with police since being picked in the second round of the 2022 NFL Draft.

A strong rookie season was blemished in December when he was involved in a two-car accident, which resulted in an arrest warrant.

Williams’ car was totaled in the crash. He and the driver of the other vehicle avoided serious injuries. They were both briefly hospitalized.

Williams walked away with some scratches on his face, along with a concussion and neck strain.

He missed one game for precautionary reasons.

Williams was cited for misdemeanor reckless driving.

But trouble details later emerged.

According to Plano police, Williams was driving up to 98 mph in a 55 mph zone, weaving between vehicles, shortly before the Dec. 22 crash.

The Cowboys drafted Williams in 2022 despite his troublesome history at the University of Mississippi.

Williams was suspended at Ole Miss in July 2020 after being charged with sexual battery. He was reinstated two months later after the charge was dropped.

Owner Jerry Jones said the Cowboys thoroughly investigated Williams’ background before picking him.

“I’m confident that we know about the young man coming in here, that we’ve covered the ground and we’ve got it all out there,” Jones said on draft night. “After having seen it all out there, we drafted Sam, and I’m confident we got everything.”

The arrest puts Williams in possible violation of the NFL’s personal conduct policy, which could result in a fine or suspension.

Same here. I had my iTunes library meticulously organized. Finding mp3s, downloading them, importing them, then updating the metadata.

And now I just use Spotify lol
