I second this, and it’s now irrevocably ratified.

I always wonder, in the multiverse are these unique? Like are GUIDs unique on other planets?

[–] Maalus@lemmy.world 1 points 6 months ago (1 children)

No, there is a very very veeeery tiny chance of them not being unique. But it is so incredibly small, it doesn't matter at all. Unless you f-up the way you generate them, you are fine.

[–] jaybone@lemmy.world 0 points 6 months ago

I’m kind of just joking about why they have a UUID vs a GUID.

If they'd spelled their band name correctly then the first syllable would've been 🐝

[–] sagrotan@lemmy.world 9 points 6 months ago (2 children)

Bob one, Bob two, Bob three and George.

[–] creditCrazy@lemmy.world 6 points 6 months ago

Too bad there wasn't a clan of elves named with B names, there'd be a few hives worth of names in the Silmarillion

Beeeeetlejuice

[–] PapaStevesy@midwest.social 4 points 6 months ago (1 children)

Nah, remembering all the names is way harder. Not to mention distinguishing the individual bees...

[–] emptyother@programming.dev 2 points 6 months ago

Easy, you just name them after whatevers distinguish that bee. Like if the bee only can see on four of his five eyes, you naturally call him Foureye.

[–] numberfour002@lemmy.world 2 points 6 months ago

Susan Bee Anthony, Susan Bee Anthony II, Susan Bee Anthony III, Susan Bee Anthony IV, ..., I could go on but I would not want my fingers to get sore and tired.

[–] Geldaran@lemmy.world 2 points 6 months ago

Nah, the puns make the names easy...

Bee Arthur Beeatrice Bee kind Beetlejuice

[–] otter@lemmy.ca 2 points 6 months ago

[–] recklessengagement@lemmy.world 1 points 6 months ago

I feel similar about gardening

[–] Sam_Bass@lemmy.world 1 points 6 months ago (1 children)

Less problem coming up withem than it would be remembering them all

[–] AnUnusualRelic@lemmy.world 3 points 6 months ago

Hiving them little "Hi, my name is..." tags helps a lot.
