is it not wildly ironic that the two leading teams are each depending on their derby rivals to stop the other from winning the title?

I'm glad we're facing united and not palace, if I'm being honest

[–] Astrealix@lemmy.world 5 points 6 months ago (1 children)

well Palace have objectively been better this year.

[–] hangonasecond@lemmy.world 3 points 6 months ago (1 children)

Legitimately yes. I don't know how united are as high up as they are

@hangonasecond @Astrealix they've been decent in stretches but Palace have been steadily improving. Olise and Eze are electrifying.

As long as they hold onto those two and keep them healthy, they can be trouble for a lot of people with the current coaching

@MHPengwingz indeed. I'd love to see one of them here but wouldn't mind if they stay to help Palace.

Another one that's lowkey been great for them is Mateta, if he gets service he makes those shots

[–] ThePowerOfGeek@lemmy.world 4 points 6 months ago

Yeah, I watched parts of their last match, and Mateta was impressive. Decent first touch, good positional sense, calm under pressure, and very strong on the ball.

In a way I don't really care because of today's results, but I do want the boys to close the season with a bang.

Nah, Spurs and West Ham aren't entirely pushovers. We need to do our part.

[–] ThePowerOfGeek@lemmy.world 3 points 6 months ago

West Ham could pull a surprise. But I really can't see the spuds putting up any kind of a fight. Hopefully I'm wrong.

Urgh, rooting for spurs is such a horrible feeling!

Spurs last season maybe...this Spurs nah

I'm very much in the same boat. I'm just trying to focus on our games and try not to think about how annoying City are.
