Is there any way to install and use the Gemini App without the Google App and forced association of the account with my Android phone?

I have a specific Google account just for Gemini, but I neither use the Google app nor desire for my phone to maintain this alt google account as one of the phone associates accounts. I think many folks would prefer login stay within the app itself.

No, the whole point of Gemini is Google integration. Use chatgpt or Bing AI if you want something similar not tied to Google.

Makes unfortunate sense. I was also hoping somebody figured out how to liberate it, but I imagined it might be highly tied to the Google app.

  • ChatGPT 3.5 isn't bad.
  • Copilot is... undecided.
  • Gemini I think I like the best in the realm of free AI, but I need to use it in a separate browser (Firefox nightly) and would prefer an app or even a PWA.

Anyway, I felt confident this was the case but people surprise me with how they can manage freeing apps and/or providing separate frontends altogether.
