Thanks to global warming, there are now luxury cruises through the Northwest passage.

So no, you won't have to cook and won't regret it.

Oh for just one time
I would take the northwest passage
To find the hand of franklin reaching
For the Beaughpheourght sea

For the Beaughpheourght sea

I thought it was called the Beaufort Sea?

[–] sandalbucket@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago

They actually changed it to the new spelling in Q3 of 2016

RIP Stan Rogers

Tracing one warm (1) line

Through a land so wild and savage

And make a northwest passage to the sea

(1) or is it worn? I never know and refuse to look up the lyrics

This style of meme is one of my favourites. I like the saltines and the jalapeno MRE ones

Read "The Terror", otherwise known as "Everything you never wanted to know about Scurvy"

I've never read the book, but the TV show was excellent

Seconding because the series is fantastic. Haven't read the book either but Jared Harris was captivating in the show.

That was awesome! Thanks for sharing!

If you haven't heard of them already, check out A Sound of Thunder. They've got a similar vibe and a similarly kickass lead singer.

This song gives me chills. Stan Rogers was such a talented singer/songwriter.

This made me think about how I missed out going through the Panama canal when I was working on a cruise ship, because I got hurt and had to go home when we made port in NYC before the ship went on to go down there and through the canal on its way to Hawaii. 😥
