If I recall correctly too, the set up is also far more radical than "look me and this black man are sitting together with our feet in some water and nothing bad is happening" and is instead "isn't it nice to soak your feet after a long day, oh look its my neighbor. Hes a police officer. Hes walking around all day. I bet it would be especially nice if he could stop and relax" and then they have a conversation about their days and what they do.

Please make an effort with your title Set your post up for success. "Does this fit here?" helps nobody. Being funny or descriptive helps. And trying is good.
Absolutely. And when Officer Clemmons didn't have a towel, Mr Rogers casually and effortlessly shared his. It was truly a remarkable moment. Years later, we discovered François Clemmons (the actor) had shared with Fred Rogers that he was gay; however, Fred decided to keep Clemmons sexuality private. Some would consider this a flaw, but I feel as though Fred was keenly aware of his audience and the issues he could approach. The man was a true hero and I feel honored to have grown up watching him.
Fred Rogers was an amazing person. I had my kids watch his show back when it was age-appropriate, and I loved seeing the love and joy that man inspired.
Incidentally, I find it funny that the seasons of Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood are the most uploaded of the torrents I'm currently seeding. The next highest is Steve Irwin's show. I guess pirates like wholesome things for their kids. Yarr!
I have had by kids (5 & under) watch his show and they just couldn't stop watching! It was the crayon episodes, and then they needed to color some pictures. It was pretty amazing! Guy knew so much what he was doing!
My kids got hooked on Daniel tiger’s Neighborhood, which is Mr. Rogers Neighborhood. Man’s legacy lives strong. I’ve shown them Mr. Roger’s and they get it but they prefer the cartoon. We talk to my three year old in terms of Daniel Tiger does this or will not do that. Sing the potty song, etc.
Two dudes chillin in a hot tub two feet apart cause they're not racist
The older I get, the more I look up to Fred Rogers, and the more I want to be someone he would be proud of.
Fred Rogers might be the most important thing to have ever come out of Western PA
