Talk about the UK rail network.
Is that normal? How does it bend that much? It's not mentioned anywhere in the article.
Most of the recent issues have been poor or missing maintenance.
Expansion and contraction of the rail can pull it free from the spikes. This isn't that uncommon of an issue in extreme temperature differences.
Not sure where it is this time but it's an issue that has come up before on this line
