I eat really fast and I was explaining to a co worker who said her boyfriend eats similar. I said that it was really just a habit from being in the military and that you never really knew when something would go down so it’s better to eat quickly instead of squandering the chance to eat at all.
She said to me that she understands now. When I inquired what branch of the military he was in she simply replied “nah, he just went to prison for a few years”.
In Air Force basic training I learned to roll up the pizza slices and scarf them down like a burrito or eat a burger taking alternating sips of the water or gaterade to soften it and hork it down. 20 seconds to eat an entire meal.
They started relaxing a bit in week 6.
I was in the Marines. We never got pizza in basic until the warriors breakfast after the crucible.
I ate so much food I threw up 🤣
Yeah, for me it was pressure from my parents to “stay fasted while drinking juice” So I ate nothing until like 930 and when it was time to eat I SCARFED 😂
It’s kind of satisfying eating like a barbarian and honestly, I encourage more people to eat in a way that feels comfortable to them overall. Dining etiquette is so outdated anyways.
Who cares if you got messy? Dive into those delicious ribs and worry about the consequences later. We invented wet naps, bibs and a sink for a reason.
Also for those wondering. Yes, it feels as satisfying as it looks from the outside.
