While I respect the use of a two-hole strap, it ain't gonna keep it from knocking against the wall

[–] Ashiette@lemmy.world 35 points 7 months ago (1 children)

There's a rubber behind the headrest, just for that purpose !

[–] Ajen@sh.itjust.works 10 points 7 months ago

"a rubber"

That's not how I'd refer to it, esp in this context

[–] Im_old@lemmy.world 14 points 7 months ago (1 children)

I was thinking the same. It might work, but the strap would have to be tighter IMO. Also good luck if that is drywall

Highly recommend some good toggle bolts or plastic toggle threaded anchors. Those should do the job.

Why dampen the noise when you can double it?

[–] shalafi@lemmy.world 9 points 7 months ago

There's a wooden block lower down. :)

[–] Jimmyeatsausage@lemmy.world 6 points 7 months ago

Just put the bed in the dead center of the room like a fucking madman.

I mean, it might if it's secure and entirely flush as well as anchored properly. But unless the house is really sturdy the whole thing is going to shake.

By the Archbishop of Banterbury. I use Arch btw.

[–] dukethorion@lemmy.one 31 points 7 months ago (4 children)

That's gonna pull right out...

[–] Fermion@mander.xyz 16 points 7 months ago

That's only about 78% effective, which makes it a very poor method of protection.

[–] BradleyUffner@lemmy.world 4 points 7 months ago

That's what he said

[–] KillerTofu@lemmy.world 1 points 7 months ago (1 children)

Just if it was stuck in a stud? Would it pull out then?

[–] realbadat@programming.dev 9 points 7 months ago (1 children)

Eventually, yes. Maybe quickly depending on the screw that was used.

Vibration dampening is the way to go.

[–] ironhydroxide@sh.itjust.works 5 points 7 months ago* (last edited 7 months ago) (1 children)

Why do you want to make the vibrations wet?

[–] realbadat@programming.dev 2 points 7 months ago

Why wouldn't I?

[–] AngryCommieKender@lemmy.world 19 points 7 months ago

Earthquake protection is a real concern.

Pay no mind to the swing

[–] cosmicrookie@lemmy.world 8 points 7 months ago

The 'uninnocent' will know that this only helps for single player issues not for multiplayer

[–] BroBot9000@lemmy.world 1 points 7 months ago (2 children)

What would a better fix be?

[–] 018118055@sopuli.xyz 4 points 7 months ago

Mattress on the floor

[–] prettybunnys@sh.itjust.works 2 points 7 months ago

A quality bed frame.

Not putting the bed frame right against the wall.

[–] guyrocket@kbin.social -3 points 7 months ago

That must be a fucking screw holding that to the wall.

Bonus use as a tie down point.

Virgins can now jump on the bed to their heart's content. Must jump alone, no jumping with a partner, k ,virgins?
