I think photoshopped or AI generated pics should not be allowed.
Food Crimes - Offenses against nutrition
Welcome to Food Crimes! This community is here to collect all and any post about cursed food and generally unusual consumables.
Right now, here’s the rules:
- Posts must include an image or video containing food or drink.
- It must be unusual or cursed in some way. a. For example, something like Doritos Milk would be unusual, but normal milk would not.
- No AI posts whatsoever, and any images that were altered (Ex: Photoshop, Gimp) need to be tagged.
How to tag:
To tag your posts, please prepend or append the tag name inside square brackets. For example,[OC] Foo bar baz
or foo bar baz [Meta]
would be acceptable. Multiple tags will require separate pairs of brackets, like so: [Edited][OC] foo bar baz
Here are the current tags:
- Edited - The image was manipulated with editing software.
- OC - You made this cursed food yourself!
- Meta - Relating to the community itself.
Finished checking out all the posts here? Also checkout !shittyfoodporn@lemmy.ca!
(BTW, I’m looking for someone to help mod here! I myself would not be enough if this community goes beyond a few posts a day.)
Maybe make foodtruecrime for that? I think it’s fine to discuss hypotheticals.
As this community’s mod, I have decided ~~to ban both real and fake, and switch to being a skibidi toilet community.~~ to allow photoshop with a tag (as per @Atropos@lemmy.world) on the title, like this:
[Edited] Foo Bar Baz
Foo Bar Baz [Edited]
As for AI posts, I will be disallowing them until I get some more opinions on them.
Also, I wanna see some original content here so…
[OC] Foo Bar Baz
[OC][Edited] Foo Bar Baz
Foo Bar Baz [Edited] [OC]
I’ll wait a bit for feedback before I put it up on the sidebar.
Skibidi is the way ... the only waaayyyy.

Doesn't belong at all. Should be in another community.
I say acceptable, but only if identified as such with a (Photoshop) or (AI) in the title.
I don't see anywhere in the sidebar about either no photoshopped items nor identifying photoshopped items (isn't it obvious anyway). Look at the community avatar. Is that a real product? Does that offend you? It doesn't offend me.
Personally, real or photoshop, it's all a laugh. Ultimately, it's @ItzzMe's call being the mod here.
I like seeing the photoshops. I understand if they belong somewhere else
