Theory? Will Smith joked about $500 hammers in Independence Day 25 years ago; the government giveaway to grifting military industrial corps is 50+ years old and one of the reasons why the right would never dismantle the federal state.

That's fair. I often forget there are ads on the internet. I look at these through an RSS reader and Firefox Enhanced Tracking Protection set to Strict is enough that I hardly ever see an ad.
