He's gonna lose this one. Widen the split and we'll get snap elections in Israel if Bibi is costing Israel its relationship with the US.

I sure hope so, because this is not a guy I want in charge of things.

Keep finding ways to pressure Biden. Its really our only shot.

If Biden see his job on the line, he can do this. Just depends on how much pressure he is feeling.

It already is. It just isn't obvious enough yet to pierce the DNC propaganda veil and his own arrogance.

It will be, though, hopefully soon enough that their stubbornness doesn't cause the fascists to win in both the US and Gaza.

This is the best summary I could come up with:

President Biden called it a “good speech” and some Democrats applauded Mr. Schumer for speaking out at a moment when Israel’s offensive against Hamas has resulted in tens of thousands of deaths in Gaza, including civilians.

confab was not the first time that Mr. Netanyahu has waded into a bitter partisan struggle over support for Israel, allying himself with Republicans eager to showcase their backing for the Jewish state.

On Wednesday, Mr. Netanyahu told Republicans on Capitol Hill that his policies reflect the consensus of Israelis and that Mr. Schumer’s remarks would have no bearing on how he planned to move forward with his offensive.

“He made it very clear that he intends to prosecute the war against Hamas to the full extent of his power, and he said the American people are behind him,” Senator John Kennedy, Republican of Louisiana, said.

Senator Mitch McConnell, Republican of Kentucky and the minority leader, said he conveyed to Mr. Netanyahu that he believed Mr. Schumer had crossed a line in “giving a democratic ally advice about when to have an election or what kind of military campaign they should be conducting.”

In his speech last Thursday, Mr. Schumer accused Mr. Netanyahu of pursuing policies that undermine Israel’s own democratic values and endanger the possibility of a two-state solution in the future.

tens of thousands of deaths in Gaza, including civilians.

MOSTLY civilians. A spokesperson for the IDF proudly declared a ratio of two civilians for every Hamas fighter and wouldn't show any data to back it up so it's almost certainly even worse than that!

Can always count on Louisiana Kennedy to whip up a stupidly obvious lie in defense of fascists while sounding like Foghorn Leghorn.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Casualties_of_the_Israel%E2%80%93Hamas_war

The Gaza Health Ministry does not distinguish between combatant and civilian casualties in its reports. Hamas themselves have said they believe they have lost 6,000 fighters in the war, while the IDF claims up to 12,000 Hamas combatants were killed in Gaza as of 19 February 2024.

The current death toll is around 30,000 so between 1,5 and 4 civilians are killed for every Hamas fighter.

Definitely in the upper end of that, yeah.

This is all kind of fascinating, with the use of internal spokesman to gain leverage. But, I really wonder if it sells on the Israeli streets. You are only looking at ~ 65% that want elections, but they want them after the shooting stops.
