Im sorry to say: these are very outdated tips. Google-fu has not worked for a long time now. Google removed a lot of this functionality about the same time they decided to remove their motto, “Don’t Be Evil.”

Im hard pressed to say one that bools work on now. DDG doesnt seem to care and thats Bing. Which are you using because I miss search functionality.

Haa, it's worth it and keeps me from OCD ruminating through shite results. Protecting the noggin is important.

They sometimes work and sometimes don't. My guess is that they work when it doesn't cost them any potential ad clicks, and don't work when they have the potential to make money by stuffing your results and ignoring your query.
