Russian forces seized the Ukrainian town of Avdiivka earlier this month, suffering heavy losses in the process.

Jesus, that's wild. Really highlights the sad state Russia is in. The Kremlin was forced to withdraw from Afghanistan because of public opposition, which was fueled by soldier's deaths. Today they just push their young men into a meat grinder and imprison or kill people who object.

Yes it's really horrifying, especially the part where they just make these conscripts run at their objective. It's so senseless.

I really can't imagine being dragged to a war of conquest for sociopath billionaires at gunpoint, then told to run across a field where I just saw 15 other soldiers get blown up and shot.

Neither. Even being forced to kill people would be really bad. Doing it while your own forces are getting decimated. And all just for bullshit reasons so billionaires and arms dealers can hoard even more stuff they don't need.
