The split personality frame that could really benefit from some RNG pity drop mechanics - Equinox!

Release date: 2015-07-31

Passive: When Equinox collects Health Orbs or Energy Orbs, 10% of the restored amount is converted into additional Energy and Health respectively.
Metamorphosis - Switch forms, temporarily gaining bonus shields and armor in Night-Form, or bonus damage and speed in Day-Form.
Rest & Rage - In Night Form targets are put to sleep. In Day Form targets become more vulnerable to damage.
Pacify & Provoke - In Night Form reduces damage inflicted by nearby enemies. In Day Form increases Ability Strength of nearby allies.
Mend & Maim - In Night Form, allies are healed with each nearby enemy killed. In Day Form, nearby enemies are bled and then subjected to a wave of slashing force.

Acquisition: Component and Aspect blueprints can be obtained by defeating Tyl Regor on Titania, Uranus. Equinox's main blueprint can be purchased from the Market.

I always liked the idea behind this frame, if not necessarily it's execution. Having a frame with support and DPS modes, switchable with a press of a button is pretty cool idea! It's just a shame that in actual gameplay her kit comes down to two abilities only, Sleep and Maim. And her farm is one of the worst if RNG decides to be unkind to you. The only good thing about it is getting to hear Tyl Regor's smooth, silky voice telling you he will crush and pummel you... Anyway, what was I talking about? Right, Equinox! Cool idea, not great execution. The one good thing that came out of Equinox is Sevagoth, his split kit works a lot better than Equinox's, in large part due to it's synergistic nature. That might actually be what's missing from Equinox, a synergy between her Night and Day form. As they stand, they both kinda just do their own thing and you end up playing as either Night Equinox or Day Equinox, often subsuming over Metamorphosis altogether.

Tyl Regor's smooth, silky voice failed to make the dull annoying wait time between phases any better after the 51st run.

Otherwise, she was good fun when she was released, but there's virtually no reason to use her now over the newer support or nuke frames. Additionally, the eximus changes neutered the effectiveness of sleep as an xp farming subsume.

Equinox is kind of interesting having two frames in one.

Its passive could use a QOL update to match the recent change to equilibrium, allowing Equinox to pick up health orbs if its energy isn't full. I'd also like to be able to forma/mod the two forms independently (like Sevagoth) because of how energy hungry the night form is. Unfortunately, Equinox is a very RNG heavy farm, so it probably wouldn't be worth the extra time and resources to do this.

It would also be nice enemies with overguard were still effected by CC/Debuffs, but with diminished effectiveness, rather than the all or nothing approach.

I forgot equinox even had a passive. It's just a single pip worth of equillibrium, which I roll with maxxed anyway.

Yeah, its my girl Equinox!

She's my main for general content clearing. I've got a high range umbral build that keeps all of her abilities viable, though I've swapped out her 3 to citrine's orb generating skill to feed the nuke / heal and the odd CC or damage boost from her 2. I run with her 4's augment so I'm frequently in Night mode for fighting singular guys, swapping to Day only to delete rooms.

If I were to change a few things about her, I'd make her 1 not decay, the bonuses are small enough to warrant being active the entire time the buff is ticking. I'd also let Day 2 affect bosses and punch through overguard, as thats who I want a damage boost on the most.

edit: and also fix her 1 augment's clone. It always reloads first thing, which sucks when you're running with a Trumna or any other of my favorite clunky weapons. It also consumes all archgun ammo instantaneously, which makes me sad for the gimmick of dual mausolon task force with the damage boosts.

One of my "Prime Only" frames as I will never fully farm their absurd requirements. Equinox is another "back in the day" Frame, as a lightweight healer and buffer that slowly got pushed into the corner by stronger and more readily available options.

I'm not sure about 1 being entirely just for Metamorphosis feels a little like a waste, though I think it'd be also simpler if they were split as one side affects enemies and one side affects allies. So Day would be all buffs and healing, and Night would be all debuffs and damages, for example.
