"Starting 11 March 2024, the price of Ring Protect Basic will change from £34.99/year to £49.99/year per device. If you would like to keep your current plan, no further action is required. Your plan will renew at the new price, unless you cancel your subscription before your next renewal on or after 11 March 2024."

Funny, the cost of my dvr security still costs me 0 per month.

Yeah same. Although we use Lorex which I think is proprietary and connects to their servers but if something ever happens, I can probably hook it into my nas and run it there.

I had a lorex and thought the same until my Internet went out and I wasn't able to access the cameras I'm my own house even though the lan was up and running.

My lorex functions with internet cut off. It just goes to the drives installed in the dvr. Don't know what happened with yours. Maybe I got an older version

I inherited a Ring but never paid the subscription because subscribing to a doorbell is ridiculous. Recently replaced it with a Reolink PoE and it’s so much better.
