From my understanding, scene groups use a sort of drm to protect their reverse engineering of the game, so that denuvo or other companies can't figure out how they broke it. But how do people know that it hasn't any kind of malware inside? Do some people reserve engineer the cracks themself to ensure the group didn't go "rouge", especially when it comes to EMPRESS which isn't really a group but a single bat shit crazy person. I know rep is everything, but how can you be 100% sure? I have been thinking of playing pirated content only on vms or dual boot for this reason.
